How to Eat an Elephant: Marketing Plan for Your Small Business

So how do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time.

...or at least that's what my dad taught me. I could go on a lengthy tangent about how I don’t know why you would want to eat an elephant (or how I’m actually not sure he is an expert in elephant eating because I've never seen him eat one)… But that's really beside the point because that's not the point he was making anyway.

The point he was trying to make was how to accomplish a seemingly overwhelming task...like eating an elephant.

How do you do it?

Well, like the proverb says, a little bit at a time.

I think the same thing is true for starting, running, and marketing your small business:

How do you get one off the ground? One step at a time.

That's why I put together this Micro Marketing Plan. If you know you need to market your small business, and you are running into walls trying to figure out where to start, I understand you. I'm right there with you — except now I'm not, because I have a plan. (Having a plan is wonderful isn’t it?)

This fillable marketing plan gives entrepreneurs a small, simple step they can take every day to move their businesses forward. I've heard it said that the results you experience in your business today are directly tied to the actions you were taking 90 days ago. This micro-marketing plan lists ideas of simple steps you can take for at least the next ninety days.

So take one day each week to plan for next week.

And before you start your work for the day (or whenever you get a moment), spend half an hour on your planned task for the day. Soon, you will have reached out to many new people sharing what you have to offer. And that's how we move our businesses forward: one step at a time.
