Why is a Memorable Company Important?

Here at Inkling Creative, we talk a lot about making companies memorable, but you might wonder, why does my company even need to be memorable?

Because this is a topic we talk so much about, I want to answer a question you might be asking yourself, "why does that matter to me?"

But first, some background.

It’s no secret that I (by the grace of God) survived a traumatic brain injury.

It’s not hard to figure out that recovery takes a lot of hard work.

Neither is it surprising to learn that a brain injury leads to a lot of memory issues.

But in the last ten years since the crash, I’ve still learned a whole lot

Not only have I learned a whole lot of ways to compensate for a memory that’s not the best, and not only have I learned a lot of ways to make things more memorable, I’ve also learned that I am not the only one with memory issues.

In a culture that’s multi-tasking non-stop, in a nation where to-do lists extend for miles, it’s not uncommon to see people forgetting what they’d like to remember. It’s not hard to find people “simply forgetting” that company they heard about the other day.

Since we’ve learned that we can’t always count on other people’s memories, we need to ask ourselves:

What do we do?

Well, that’s where Inkling Creative comes in. Because we have first hand experience recovering from memory loss, we know how to move forward.

And part of that involves making things memorable.

There are a lot of memory compensation methods that you can do for yourself that help make things memorable. But in a culture where everyone is short on time, you can’t ask everyone to do that. (Or explain how…or get them to care enough to do so.)

Then what?

You take it out of their hands.

You make yourself memorable.

A lot of making yourself memorable comes depends on you, your skills, your character, and your presentation. But first, you need to get people interested in your company.

And this is where Inkling Creative really comes in, Because a lot of that is the first impression(s) you make visually. And that’s what we do with graphic design, branding, and print.

Does your logo communicate what your company does effectively?

Does your business card communicate your company’s information, style, and quality accurately?

Do your branding and marketing materials explain clearly what your company does? More importantly, do they tell your audience what they need to do?

(As a side note, I know from both experience and researching the neuroscience of touch, that print really is more memorable. That’s why we place such an emphasis on print marketing.)

This part of making your company memorable comes down to knowing your audience. You need to know your audience and what appeals to them, so that you can communicate with them effectively. When you do this, you will attract the right people.

And when you do this, you can be the solution to their problem and impact their lives (and/or their businesses).

If you make your company memorable (in a good way), not only will you make an impact, you will satisfy your customers. Satisfied customers keep coming back and lead to referrals, which in turn lead to more satisfied customers.

It’s an all-around win-win-win situation. (We like those, don’t we?)

THAT’S why it’s so important to make your company memorable
